This article contains a series of five maps showing currently active human migration routes. The article links the European migrant crisis with other movements of displaced people escaping war and conflict internationally. The areas highlighted are the Eastern Mediterranean Route (migrants from Syria to Europe), The Mediterranean Sea Route (migrants from Somalia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and South Sudan to Europe), The Central American Route (migrants from Mexico and Central America to the USA), and The Southeast Asian Route (migrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh to Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia).
